Jachin Pousson is a composer and electroacoustic musician currently based in Riga, LV. A drummer from an early age, he formed the rock band "Firebrands" in 2005 in Singapore which toured music festivals around the world till 2010. He then moved to Copenhagen to study composition at the Royal Danish Academy of Music under Hans Abrahamsen before opting to continue his Masters studies in Latvia at Jāzep Vītols Latvian Music Academy under Rolands Kronlaks where he graduated in 2015. 

 

His academic works, which are concerned with musical and visual abstractions of forces and phenomena of nature and physics, have seen numerous premiers by Latvian ensembles including Sinfonietta Riga, and the Professional Wind Orchestra Riga. In 2014-2015 he conducted advanced research in the field of brainwave entrainment and the psychological effects of using binaural stimuli as a basis for musical material. He also formed the experimental electroacoustic band "Endless Roar" which seeks to explore various frontiers of semi-improvised audio/visual performance art.

 

At present he remains an active participant in the academic and electroacoustic scenes in Riga.
